BCA

The Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) is a three-year undergraduate programme that is equivalent to a Bachelor of Technology course. BCA is designed to produce graduates who have the necessary skills and knowledge not only in computer and information technology, but also in communication, organization, and management.

BCA programme aims at training the candidate in the various areas like basics in programming, networking, various application packages etc. On completion of the course the candidates opt for either higher studies or jobs. It is important that these candidates have a sound knowledge, i.e conceptual knowledge, so as to be successful in their career.

  • Career scope after BCA

Job prospects are available in various areas like programming, networking, system administration etc. There are many companies which specialize in these areas like WIPRO, TCS etc. But the scope is not limited to the IT companies. Most organizations whether big or small nowadays will have requirements in the IT sections. These include Banking sector, Telecommunication sector, Dairy Sector etc. It is important to select the job based on the profile interest. The opportunities available after completion of Masters course is higher. On gaining experience you can reach higher positions in your career.

There are quite a few options available in public sector too. They have options like working for the Petroleum sector like ONGC, Bharat Petroleum or to work for Telecom Sector BSNL, MTNL etc. Most of the Government organizations do need candidates of this profile. Opportunities are also available under various ministries. But to join any of these organizations the candidates will need to clear the entrance exams or PSC tests. BCA candidates can also try for jobs in the electronic data entry departments on a permanent as well as contract basis.
